Game Boy Personal Organizer

The Nintendo Game Boy dropped in 1989 and straight-up changed handheld gaming forever. This little gray brick with the green screen didn’t have fancy graphics, but it didn’t need ‘em—it had Tetris. That game alone sold millions of units. Then came Game Boy Pocket in ‘96—same games, slimmer body. In ‘98, Nintendo leveled up with the Game Boy Color—finally, color graphics. It wasn’t flashy, but it was a workhorse. Durable, addictive, and crazy portable for the time. You could burn through batteries in a weekend and still beg for more. If you grew up with one in your backpack, you already know the deal—this was the console that turned “portable” into a legit way to play.
